"When someone sees this year's pride logo, I want them to see themselves."
Every year, the Vancouver Canucks hosts a Pride Theme night to highlight inclusivity in sport and fight homophobia. I was asked to provide artwork for the '24/'25 season. To me, the best part about going to a hockey game is the moments that happen in the stands between people.
Strangers become friends, friends become lovers, beer gets bought, drank and spilled. For a few hours, it doesnt matter where you came from, who you love or what your identity is. All of that fades away and you just become a hockey fan amongst thousands of others. Its moments like that where we learn we have way more in common with one another than we do that divides us. My artwork celebrates that.
