  • The Lizard Review is a music blog from Madeline Rubicam, cohost of Evolution of a Snake podcast and popular internet personality. The direction was clear - a lizard, but it had to be cute. I cant count how many lizards I drew to get there, but we eventually did.

The colour palette was designed to feel lighthearted and fun, contributing to an overall teen bedroom aesthetic. Influences included the amazing moodboard madeline put together, her favourite bands, candy hearts, and of course: cute lizards.

  • I'm so grateful Madeline trusted me with this project. Her blog is amazing and truly provides great music commentary. You should check it out.

Inspiration in memories

To evoke the feeling of a teen bedroom, I only had to dig up my own memories of mine to get myself there. What would 15 year old dan like?

Keep drawing

I drew a lot of lizards before we got to the right one. Sometimes, you really need to hone in on an idea for a while and not give up.
